Two at
one stroke
Last Thursday, the owners, project participants and employees of the construction companies of both ZIMA projects in Vienna-Donaustadt met for the traditional topping-out ceremony in the completed building shell. The new "Attemsgarten" residential quarter at Attemsgasse 44, a green oasis in the middle of Vienna, will be completed by 2024. It will offer future residents a conscious and sustainable lifestyle with a well thought-out urban gardening concept. Beds for the individual cultivation of vegetables or flowers as well as shady pergolas stand for closeness to nature. The 240 apartments in the three-part building ensemble have spacious balconies and terraces.
The second completed building shell at Attemsgasse 42 - in the immediate vicinity of the "Attemsgarten" urban quarter - was realized together with Österreichisches Siedlungswerk (ÖSW AG). A total of 96 subsidized rental apartments spread over eight floors and three commercial units with a total usable area of around 5,000 m² are being built here. "The joint project with Österreichisches Siedlungswerk at Attemsgasse 42 offers people with different social backgrounds a new home. The funding from the City of Vienna makes it possible to create attractive and affordable housing for as broad a cross-section of the population as possible," says a delighted Ernst Nevrivydistrict leader of the 22nd district.
Sustainable living at the highest level
Erwin BrauchartManaging Director of ZIMA Wien GmbH: "With the Gleichen celebrations, we have reached the next milestone for our important projects in Attemsgasse, in the heart of one of the most liveable and attractive cities in the world. With both projects, we want to show how sustainable residential construction for people with high standards of living quality, price and reliability can be successfully realized in the future and how inner-city coexistence can be optimally implemented."
Gerald Parzer, lead project developer at ÖSW: "The project at Attemsgasse 42 is completely geared towards high-quality and affordable housing and is therefore fully in line with our founding idea of creating attractive and affordable housing options for as broad a cross-section of the population as possible."
Thomas Behacker from the construction company PORR: "In the 'Attemsgarten' project, we are placing particular emphasis on sustainable, resource-conserving construction. We want to show how the environment in the middle of the city can be positively shaped. Because with projects like this, we are not only shaping people's living environment, but also laying the foundations for future generations."
Short distances
Both new-build projects are close to an educational campus, kindergartens and a grammar school, and the Westfield Donau Zentrum is also within easy walking distance. In summer, the Alte Donau can be reached in around ten minutes by bike. An ideal urban offer with short distances, which should appeal to young people and families in particular. Despite challenging times, both projects will be completed and handed over on schedule in spring 2024.
