Extension
of the Emspark in Hohenems

Dornbirn, 25.03.2021 - The largest contiguous commercial and industrial area in Vorarlberg is being further expanded by ZIMA Projekt Baugesellschaft in Hohenems. Construction work on Vorarlberg's largest and climate-neutral McDonald's restaurant began back in February - at the same time as the structural expansion of the existing Emspark. After a planning phase lasting several years and the relocation of the fittings manufacturer GRASS and the mold manufacturer Meusburger, the Emspark, which has been in existence for over 20 years, will be expanded and supplemented by a new two-storey building in the area on the A14 by July 2021. The total investment volume for the structural expansion amounts to around 12.5 million euros.

Construction of a new, two-storey building, which adjoins and extends the existing Emspark, began at the start of February. Sutterlüty is relocating its current food market to the first floor of the new building: "We are delighted that, after 20 years in Hohenems, we will be able to be represented in a new building with our successful, regional B'sundrig concept from next fall, which means a lot to us," says Jürgen Sutterlüty, owner & managing director of Sutterlüty Handels GmbH. On the upper floor, fitness enthusiasts will find purfitness, the newest place to go in the region. "With the best training options, a spacious wellness area and a new design, purfitness Hohenems will inspire everyone," says Michael Allgäuer, Managing Director of purfitness Fitnessclub VI. GmbH. In addition, two office units will be built on the 2nd floor and rented out from autumn 2021. Completion of the new building is planned for fall 2021.

Step-by-step implementation and realization of the site
The development of the site was implemented in several stages, with due consideration given to traffic access. "With this final construction phase and the implementation of the planned traffic solution, this successful project is entering its final phase. After more than 10 years of development and implementation, we are very pleased with this final milestone," says Elmar Girardi, Managing Director of ZIMA Projekt Baugesellschaft mbH. "In close cooperation with ZIMA, we were able to develop Vorarlberg's largest contiguous industrial and commercial area. In addition to the establishment of new companies and the associated creation of new jobs, we have succeeded in developing a new traffic concept that will significantly ease congestion at the Hohenems highway exit. Especially in these times, such investments are very valuable. I would like to thank all partners, the companies, the state of Vorarlberg and ASFINAG for the great cooperation," said Mayor Dieter Egger.
