That was the
EXPO REAL 2021

Dornbirn/Munich, 14.10.2021: After a one-year break due to the pandemic, EXPO REAL 2021 in Munich, Europe's largest B2B trade fair for real estate and investment, brought together the leading representatives of the real estate world again for the first time. In addition to current global political developments and the challenges in the logistics chain, the focus of the industry dialog was on the future topics of sustainable construction and living of tomorrow. The ZIMA Group, with its broad portfolio of innovative, large-scale urban projects and attractive residential quarters, was at the forefront of the new start to the industry summit. Once again, the leading private real estate developer in the German-speaking Alpine region impressed visitors with its climate-neutral solid timber construction concept purelivin. Top-class discussions and contacts, positive growth signals from the entire industry and a clear spirit of optimism for climate protection, sustainability and new residential concepts characterize the consistently satisfied conclusion of EXPO REAL 2021 at ZIMA.

Accompanied by a comprehensive hygiene and testing concept, EXPO REAL 2021 once again attracted a large number of visitors from the entire real estate and investment industry from October 11 to 13 in Munich. Even though Europe's most important industry gathering was somewhat smaller than its predecessor two years ago, with around 20,000 participants from 52 countries and almost 1,200 exhibitors from 29 countries: "EXPO REAL 2021 will be remembered as an outstanding opportunity to once again engage in personal dialog with our national and international partners and colleagues after two years of uncertainty due to the pandemic. It was a great pleasure to be able to discuss current trends in the industry face-to-face with colleagues again. There were numerous visitors from the DACH region in particular this year, with whom we were able to hold highly productive discussions about developments within our market and trends for the coming years. For us, EXPO REAL 2021 was a successful and inspiring reunion that has already sparked anticipation for next year," explained Alexander Nußbaumer, owner and CEO of the ZIMA Group.

purelivin builds for a green future
There is a clear spirit of optimism in the segment of resource-conserving construction and sustainable building and living concepts. The trend away from fossil raw materials and energy sources or CO2-intensive building materials such as steel or concrete towards renewable raw materials such as wood and sustainable energy concepts is unstoppable. Not least for this reason, the revolutionary solid timber construction concept purelivin was once again in the spotlight. The innovative construction principle of being able to flexibly combine solid wood modules into residential units is based 100% on the renewable raw material wood. The first projects were already completed last year and handed over to the building owners and tenants.

"We are firmly convinced that the future of living is based on the central pillars of modular, serial prefabrication and sustainable, renewable raw materials such as wood. This is exactly where we come in," says Nußbaumer, seeing this as confirmation of the path taken years ago with purelivin. "The major social challenges of our time - the pandemic, health and climate change - require new thinking and new concepts in the core area of housing and living. We are fully on board with our current and future projects."

Focus on current major projects
ZIMA's current projects in German-speaking countries once again attracted a great deal of attention at EXPO REAL. In addition to the recently completed "DASGOETHE" project in Munich's city center and the "Römertor" residential and service quarter in Gersthofen near Augsburg, the new landmark project "Attemsgarten" was a particular talking point. ZIMA is creating the perfect balance between a suburban living experience and urban infrastructure with the residential quarter being built in Vienna's 22nd district. The urban gardening concept and the diverse greening measures are right in tune with the times. Nußbaumer looks to the future with confidence: "Our industry faces major developments and challenges in the coming years. As an owner-managed group of companies, we at ZIMA are consistently focused on innovation and new project ideas and are therefore well prepared to play an active role in shaping this journey. We want to enable people to realize their dream homes by developing high-quality yet affordable residential concepts. The positive response at a trade fair as important as EXPO REAL shows us that we are on the right track and that our values such as sustainability and quality are by no means contradictory, but on the contrary complement each other perfectly."
